Yesterday was a special day, for the first time, I dived my 5D in salt water...
Dry in its new Ikelite glass case, I make sure that everything is well sealed, Marc grabs it while I put on my mask, as soon as I put it on, I dive headfirst in search of rare specimens.
It's always exciting to try a new photo gadget, I swim on the surface and when I see some action, I get close and press the shutter release. The sea is very shifting with the gushing waves breaking over my head, I have to be constantly on my guard not to scratch a knee or a shoulder on the corals while I have my eye in the viewfinder. With all this trouble, I'm doing pretty well and I know that Marc is not far away... In spite of the exorbitant weight of the "kit", this device handles wonderfully, I don't have any extra light or flash yet so my first tests will be in natural light, photoshop will adjust everything later at home. I take hundreds of pictures because I know that only a few will be usable, the ones that will be well lit and well framed.
Here are the fishes of the coastline of SeaLodge in Princeville.
