Brigitte Thériault 

Photographer, born in Charlesbourg, Quebec, in 1974.

Brigitte Thériault began learning photography in 1988. From 1988 to 1991, she experimented with different camera and darkroom techniques, and as her passion for photography grew, she decided to make it her profession. Following her studies in this field in Montreal, she became a professional and quickly moved into various fields such as fashion, events and artists' portraits, with her photographs being published in several Quebec magazines and newspapers. In 1994, she penned a dozen covers for Quebec City's the Quebec City cultural newspaper Voir. Over time, she also entered the world of advertising photography and interior design.

In 2007, Brigitte Thériault launched her limited-edition collections of traditional photographs, and her minimalist natures made their way into art galleries and were represented across Canada and the United States.

Occasionally, Brigitte Thériault is a teacher, lecturer and judge for various photographic events. She is also aor the past ten years, she share ses récits photos from trips in diffés different magazines and newspapers such as the Nomade Mag, Le Soleil and La Presse.

From 2013 to 2019, she leaves Quebec with her husband and their three children for a fascinating immersion adventure on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. This experience inspired Brigitte to use her photographs of Kauai's tropical flora to create a collection of exclusive designs, to offer a range of original, top-of-the-range products exclusive. The collection Kauai collection imaginedée à Hawaii and completed à Québec, in spring 2020!

Now back in Charlesbourg and following some thirty years of professional photography, Brigitte's intention is to continue this photographic work with Quebec flowers, but also to concentrate her efforts on her more artistic interests such as design, ceramics and always, fine art photography. Spring 2021 saw the launch of a new collection of Quebec-made floral motifs, the Jardin Québécois collection.

Artistic approach

Artist-photographer Brigitte Thériault does not reduce her field of action to a discourse on photography. An impressionist artist, she subjects her photographic eye to the film, cultivating raw instinct. 

As a globetrotter, she strives to capture the beauty of a landscape, of a fleeting moment caught on the sly, her work is resolutely aesthetic, she approaches photography like a painting. This thirst for wild freedom, this quest for the sublime and the ideal, so dear to romantic minds, is revealed in her series "Vivia" and "Pastel", two series that oppose light and darkness, lost paradise and realism, languor and happiness, solitude and family.
